High School Students: If you enjoy stories from the past, apply for the 2025 Rosbe Education Fund Internship at SHS
The Role:
The internship is a 10 hour per week, paid summer experience for those interested in museum studies, history education, or public programs at the Sippican Historical Society’s (SHS) Museum in Marion, Massachusetts.
Responsibilities:
- Describe, research and photograph and of historic documents and artifacts.
- Research and present information and objects to include in the next SHS exhibit.
- Assist with public programming and events.
Desired Qualifications:
- Demonstrated interest in history
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Ability to ask clarifying questions, troubleshoot, and solve problems
- Proficiency with common computer applications such as MS Office and Google Suite.
Who we are:
Founded in 1963, the Sippican Historical Society seeks to foster interest in the history of Marion, Massachusetts. We encourage historical research and writing, promote historical preservation and document and share history. At its museum, housed in the historic Walton Nye Ellis house, you find artifacts, documents and artwork pertaining to the town and region.

About the internship:
The 2025 internship is a ten hour per week position for ten weeks between June and August. Exact dates of employment are flexible. The position pays $17/hour as a part-time employee and is funded by the Judith Rosbe Education Fund at SHS.
